Katie Ridder:
Interior Designer
Style Arbiter

Born and raised in the Bay area, Katie Ridder moved East after college and began her career as a decorating editor at House & Garden and House Beautiful. After seven years in the magazine world, she opened an eponymous retail home furnishings store located on Lexington Avenue, where her clients included all the top decorators of the day. She founded her own interior design firm in 1995.

For the past 12 years, Katie Ridder has decorated everything from Fifth Avenue floor-throughs and Park Avenue penthouses to country mansions, Hamptons estates, and working farms in Virginia and New Zealand. Her projects are a striking balance between style and discretion, combining comfort, practicality, and sophisticated color while staying true to the architectural surroundings.

Katie’s work has been featured in the New York Times, Elle Decor, Town & Country, House & Garden, Domino and House Beautiful. Her work has graced the covers of House Beautiful and Elle Decor. In addition, she has appeared on the “Top 100” list of designers for House Beautiful, Elle Decor, and New York magazine. Kaite was interviewed live on Good Morning America in a segment devoted to her entry in the Ebay Decorator Showhouse of 2005.
